I strongly condemn the unjustified arrest of Ehsan Ali Advocate, Chairman of the Public Action Committee in Gilgit-Baltistan, Masood-ur-Rehman, Mehboob Wali and Shabbir Mayar.
This move is not only a violation of basic human rights but also a failed attempt to suppress the legitimate constitutional, political and economic rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The provincial government wants to suppress the representative voices of the people through daily repression and tyranny, but history is witness that whenever the oppressor tried to silence them, the movements grew even stronger.
We want to tell the government in clear words that arrests of public representatives and unconstitutional tactics cannot suppress the spirit of the people.
I pay tribute to the peaceful struggle of the People’s Action Committee and the sacrifices of its leaders, who always raised their voices boldly for the rights of the people and did not bow to state oppression.
These arrests are proof that the People’s Action Committee’s movement is based on truth and justice, and this truth has become a threat to tyrannical rulers.
I demand that the arrested leaders be released immediately and the constitutional and fundamental rights of the people be respected. Otherwise, the wave of popular resistance will now be unstoppable.
Arrests Of Gilgit-Baltistan Awami Action Committee are totally Unjustified
