The budget 2025-26 presented by the Government of Pakistan is not only against the principles of economic justice but can lead to serious human rights violations in many aspects. This budget places an additional burden on the middle and poor classes, pushing them further into backwardness, while protecting the privileged classes.
The current government has tried to throw dust in the eyes of the people by making a slight increase in the salaries and pensions of government employees, while the inflation rate has crossed 25 percent and the people are yearning for two meals a day.
The budget unveiled today is fundamentally against the interests of the public. It entirely overlooks critical sectors such as education, health, and social welfare. The budget lacks any substantial strategy or roadmap to address unemployment, boost exports, or strengthen local industries.
I unequivocally rejects this anti-public budget and calls for prioritizing education, health, employment, and welfare initiatives. Failure to do so will significantly worsen public hardships and push the economy toward collapse.
