Under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, Iran has exercised its fundamental right to self-defense by launching targeted strikes on American military facilities in the Middle East. The Pakistani government has consistently affirmed this right since Israel’s aggression against Iran began on June 13, and again after the US targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities on June 22. These strikes are not aimed at undermining the sovereignty of any Arab state but are a direct response to the United States’ repeated, unprovoked attacks on Muslims, including recent strikes on Iran. This calculated action was necessary to address the United States’ irresponsible conduct and to restore deterrence against those perpetrating hostile and degrading acts toward Iran. Arab countries hosting US military bases should act swiftly to dismantle them for the security of their populations.
